Musical Performers

Shilts hails from London, England and has been playing saxophone since his early teens. His career has spanned all forms of jazz, soul and pop music, and he has toured all over the world and recorded with a host of international artists.

Most recently you will have seen Shilts as Bandleader and front-man of British urban jazz funk export “Down To The Bone” which has enjoyed massive success in the United States. DTTB have released 7 albums of which Shilts is heavily featured, both as a player and as a writer.

In 2008 after a bitter sweet decision, Shilts finally said farewell to DTTB and turned his full focus on his solo career. Armed with his new CD “Going Underground” with the #1 single “Seeing Things Clearly,’ things couldn’t look brighter for the future.

Shilts’ ethos is a desire to produce good music without ever losing sight of the fact that it should be good fun at the same time. Now let’s just wait and ………….. “see what happens”!

Matt Marshak

Matt Marshak, a native of Long Island, New York, grew up on rock ‘n’ roll music in a home full of musicians. There’s no denying Matt Marshak’s mastery of the contemporary jazz format, as he lays down original, stylish guitar licks with shades of the blues, rock, pop, soul and—of course—jazz. Marshak is known for his lively, fun and energetic live shows. Being one of the finest guitarists in the contemporary jazz genre means that Marshak also digs experimenting with his guitar sounds.

Whether his music sounds vocal or instrumental, Marshak has been one of most appealing new faces in contemporary jazz. That’s even before the late, great and influential CD 101.9 smooth-jazz radio station in New York named him one of the best new smooth-jazz artists. Later would come worldwide recognition from JazzTimes magazine, which showered praise on his music and unique style.

After his breakthrough in contemporary jazz circles  as the 2009 winner of the Capital Jazz Fest Challenge,  Marcus Anderson is embracing every opportunity to perform and inspire fans – and most importantly, as the  title of his third and latest CD attests, fully living in the NOW.  The multi-talented composer, saxophonist and flutist’s  original working title was “Transition,” a nod to the powerful ongoing development of his career and his move toward the top tier of contemporary jazz. Anderson realized that  the career he had always dreamed of was indeed happening
right NOW, and it’s exciting.
