The Petrocelli Family strives to produce Long Island’s greatest wines, incorporating both New World advances and Old World traditions. They are located on the North Fork of Long Island where the gentle maritime influence of the surrounding water provides a moderate climate allowing the grapes to fully ripen, achieving perfect balance, aroma, and flavor. Using sustainable vineyard practices, hand harvesting, spontaneous fermentation and a natural winemaking philosophy, Raphael produces hand-crafted wines that reflect a pure expression of the unique climate and soil of the North Fork.

JEFF GOLUB
Current CD: “The Three Kings”
Jeff Golub is a contemporary jazz & blues guitarist with 6 solo albums and 3 CD’s as the leader of “Avenue Blue”. Well known for his work with Rod Stewart, performing on 4 albums and 5 world tours. Then, following up on the artists that these musicians sighted as their inspiration, he delved deeper into the blues listening to Muddy Waters, Buddy Guy and anyone named King (B.B.,Albert & Freddie). His solo records have been staples at radio and he has toured the world annually with “Guitars and Saxes”

HENRY BUTLER
Widely hailed as a pianist and vocalist both as a solo artist and with a variety of groups – considered by many to be the premier exponent of the great New Orleans jazz and blues piano tradition – Henry Butler is equally respected for his versatile work as a composer and arranger in a broad range of genres, and as a speaker and educator in high demand on conference programs and college campuses around the country.

The First Annual Indie Jazz/Blues Festival 2012 will be the first of its kind held in Wilmington, NC. This event will provide families and communities the opportunity to come together and network, but to also provide the Independent Artists (participants) the opportunity to expand their fan base and expose their music to different networks.

This event will take place on Saturday, July 7, 2012 from 12p-5p, during the times that most people are out and about, and occurs following the July 4th holiday and festivities. Due to the arts and entertainment communities that have emerged from this coastal resort town, and the outdoor venue where the event will be held, we anticipate 1000 people in attendance. We will also be streaming the event ‘Live’ for those who are unable to attend but would like to see
the festival performers.

The Jazz & Blues artists that will be performing consist of Detroit Music Award Winners, International Artists, and local talent that will provide a well-rounded multi-cultural experience for the community with good clean music. The festival will include food and beverage vendors, educational scholarship give-aways, CD sales, t-shirts, and will also provide support to the local Domestic Violence Shelter & Services, Inc. of Wilmington, NC.

When is the last time you spent a weekend in a Chester County park and listened to the sounds of smooth jazz? Some say that music has the power to soothe the soul which is why we chose that as the festival theme. Who couldn’t use some of that?

When the Tri-State area lost the only smooth jazz radio station it had WJJZ we felt a huge gap in our daily listening enjoyment and prior to that there was a huge drop in the open air free concerts we regularly enjoyed hosted by the radio station. For years we talked about how nice it would be for someone to take that on again. After years of waiting we decided to go for it. Jazz is special. Music is special. That’s why this event is so special.

The purpose of the jazz festival is to strengthen community bonds and to offer an outlet for local artists, musicians, merchants, and business owners. Our aim is also to keep the jazz alive by focusing on the younger jazz artists/bands in the area and to bring awareness to and support the needs of local non-profits or charities in the Chester County area. The Producers have selected the Chester County Food Bank and the Stephen Chandler Ericson Foundation as their non -profit benefactors.

Announced artists are Warren Hill, Peter White,  Ronnie Laws, and more.

The Festival runs from June 29 – July 1, 2012. Friday begins at the Asplundh Concert Hall on the campus of West Chester University with a Battle of the Youth Jazz Bands competition and concludes that evening with a rhythmic smooth jazz performance by a nationally known recording artist.

The enjoyment continues on Saturday and Sunday beginning at 11:00 a.m. each day in beautiful Hoopes Park with free open-air live jazz music, exhibitors, and great food.

Emilie K. Asplundh Concert Hall, West Chester University, 700 S High St, West Chester, Pennsylvania 19382

Founded in 2002 – attendance at the Festival has grown each year, from 15,000 the first year to more than 162,000 in 2010 – attracting music lovers from around the U.S. and the world.

Acoustic Alchemy will give a concert among numerous performers of all jazz genres during this 9-day festival. Access with Club Pass or purchase a ticket at the door for $20. No advance sales. Seating is first-come, first-served. Get there early! Two shows, 5:30 & 7:15 p.m.

For nearly 25 years, Acoustic Alchemy has pushed the limits of the acoustic guitar’s potential by embracing a spectrum of musical styles ranging from straightahead jazz to folk to rock to world music and beyond. In the two and a half decades since their earliest recordings despite a tragic setback in the late 1990s and the inherent challenges of the 21st century music industry the group has assembled and sustained a vast and loyal following that stretches well beyond their U.K. origins.

New this year is a smart-phone app that will appear some time in May and a new Club Pass venue Hatch Recital Hall in the Eastman School of Music, which will feature all-acoustic solo and duo performances. Over the 9 days of the festival, XRIJF will present more than 1000 musicians, performing in more than 300 concerts at eighteen venues in and around Gibbs (“Jazz”) Street.
