Peter Muller is currently in the studio to work on his new CD “No Mind”. You can support the progress of the production by joining his Indiegogo campaign here: http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/.

Peter comments: “It’s not about making a donation without any output, you get something in return! And this is my new album “No Mind”, which will be released in early 2014.

You can preorder it in any form (download or physical CD) and you can also purchase some interesting perks.

As I run my own studio, I do not have to hire an audio engineer or a location for recording, which is a big advantage, but there are other costs I can’t avoid like paying out the awesome musicians, covering travel costs, artwork, photo shooting, printing of CD’s, marketing etc…

Your preorders will be used to organize all this and help me to continue the production process without too many interruptions. I will give all supporters a personal monthly update by e-mail about the progress of the production.

Thank you very much for your support!! And please spread the word about my Indiegogo campaign.”

Grammy winning bassist Marcus Miller was injured when his tour bus overturned in Switzerland Sunday (November 25). According to Billboard, the German-registered private bus tipped over as it drove into a bend on the A2 highway in central Switzerland, killing the driver. The bus was carrying 13 people – two drivers and 11 members of the Marcus Miller Band, including Miller. The band had finished up a show in Monaco, Monte Carlo and were on their way to their next gig in Hengelo, Netherlands when the accident occurred. Marcus was released from the hospital, but several of his bandmates and crew members were being kept overnight for observation.

Marcus comments on his Facebook page: “Thanks to everyone who has called, texted, posted messages, sent prayers and is keeping Marcus and the band and crew in your thoughts. I wish I had the time to respond to each of you individually…for now, please understand that things are a little hectic, and know that the band and crew are all okay. Our thoughts and prayers are with the bus driver and his family. I’ll post again tomorrow if there are any updates. Bibi…signing off for the night.”

Brazilian music and Funk find their roots in the drums and rhythms of West Africa. These organic elements form the musical DNA that is imbedded in all the music of the Americas. For one night, we bring together two award-winning stars to explore both genres…

Sergio Mendes – The Grammy® winner and undisputed master of Pop Brazilian Jazz created a new sound by fusing Brazilian roots with American Jazz to create Brazil ‘66. Today, he continues to push Brazilian Jazz even further by mixing in Funk and hip hop rhythms.

Candy Dulfer – Dutch-born alto sax star and Funk master made her name in the pop music world as a soloist for major stars such as Prince, Pink Floyd, Van Morrison and Dave Stewart. Her charm and talent even led to her own TV show, and now she returns to the stage to stir Vegas audiences at The Smith Center.

The Pacific Jazz Institute at Dimitriou’s Jazz Alley presents Jeff Lorber (piano) with special guests Randy Brecker (trumpet), Eric Marienthal (saxophone), Ron Jenkins (bass) and Lionel Cordew (drums). Showtimes Thursday – Saturday at 7:30pm and 9:30pm. Showtime Sunday at 7:30pm. Doors open at 6pm on Thursday and 5:30pm Friday – Sunday.

Trailblazing keyboardist Jeff Lorber revisits a sound he helped pioneer in his latest recording Galaxy. While the new album release date is 1/31/2012, the Jazz Alley audience will be the first to hear the fresh tracks live and the CD will be available for purchase each evening!

Following up on his Grammy-nominated 2010 release, Now Is The Time, Lorber again culls from his early catalog but gives a fresh approach to some of his most highly requested compositions, including “Wizard Island,” “City,” “The Samba” and “The Underground.” “Essentially this album is a part two,” Lorber says. “It’s even more into the jazz fusion direction. It’s more energetic and the performances are tighter.”

2011 Multiple Grammy-nominee, Randy Brecker, a key contributor to the rich sound of Lorber’s newest album Galaxy, has been a force behind the trumpet and flugelhorn for over four decades. His dynamic and unique sound has been featured on albums by a wide range of artists, including James Taylor, Bruce Springsteen, Parliament-Funkadelic, Frank Sinatra, Steely Dan, David Sanborn, Jaco Pastorius, Horace Silver, and Frank Zappa.

Also a member of the new release Galaxy, alto saxophonist Eric Marienthal joins in for the 4-night run. Marienthal has played with a who’s who of artists including Elton John, Billy Joel, Steve Wonder, Aaron Nveille, David Benoit, B.B. King, Lou Rawls and the Big Phat Band just to name a few. Originally a member of the Chick Corea Elektric Band, he recorded 6 CDs with them and 2 of those were Grammy winners. In addition to this project he currently occupies the lead alto chair of Gordon Goodwin’s Big Phat Band, playing alto saxophone, soprano saxophone, flute and piccolo.
