Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital presents Alexander Zonjic’s Valentine’s Concert free to the public.

Jazz star Alexander Zonjic and his award winning band along with special guests, Detroit’s Queen of the Blues, Thornetta Davis and vocalist Royce The Voice perform in the beautiful Ravitz Foundation Main Atrium of Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 17.

The Men of Grace cordially invite you to participate in the third Annual “Jazzy Christmas” concert featuring world renowned flutist Alexander Zonjic. Come spend an enjoyable evening listening to the gospel, blues and jazz sounds of ALEXANDER ZONJIC and MEN OF GRACE. There will also be special guest appearances and a silent auction. All proceeds from the concert and silent auction will support GRACE CENTERS OF HOPE.

Grace Centers of Hope is Oakland County’s oldest and largest homeless shelter providing hope and help since 1942. Today, Grace Centers of Hope is considered one of the leading faith-based organizations in Southeastern Michigan daily confronting issues of homelessness, addiction, poverty and spiritual emptiness. On any given night, Grace Centers of Hope will accommodate between 150-200 men, women and children. Each year we serve over 127,000 meals and provide over 55,000 nights of stay. Our $4.4 million dollar budget is supported exclusively through private support; we receive no government funding.

The Men of Grace are a group of men that tour the country spreading the saving Grace of the Gospel through song and personal testimonies. Nearly each member of the Men of Grace has overcome a drug and/or alcohol addiction and is a graduate of Grace Centers of Hope. The Men of Grace have toured the country and sung for U.S. Presidents, Fortune 500 companies, professional sports teams, churches of all sizes and denominations and nearly every Cracker Barrel east of the Mississippi. They have recorded eight CD’s.

Alexander Zonjic started his musical career in Windsor, Ontario as a rock and R&B guitarist. At age 21 he bought his first flute from a stranger on the street for $50 while on break from a rock tour. Soon thereafter he entered the University of Windsor as a music student and later went on to teach other how to play flute at the University. Upon graduation, Zonjic continued his studies under the tutelage of Ervin Monroe, principle flutist of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. Over the years, Zonjic has performed with orchestras nationwide, including The Detroit Symphony Orchestra, The Windsor Symphony Orchestra, The Florida Symphony Orchestra and many others. His classical career includes collaborating on three projects with Monroe. On the jazz side Mr Zonjic has performed with such greats as Bob James, Earl Klugh, Peter White, James Lloyd, Kenny G, Rick Braun, Chieli Minucci and many others. Mr. Zonjic won the 2010 Album of the Year and the Broadcaster of the Year at the Canadian Smooth Jazz Awards. In addition to performing in one hundred concerts a year he also hosts a weekly radio program and is the creative director of four summer music festivals in the Detroit/Windsor area.
