The Punta Gorda Chamber of Commerce is entering its 10th year of service to the community and in February 2015, the annual Wine and Jazz Festival too will be celebrating its 10th anniversary. This festival has received all types of accolades over the years and has brought such amazing acts as Ramsey Lewis, The Rippingtons featuring Russ Freeman, Peter White, Gerald Albright, Norman Brown, David Benoit and, of course, festival favorite Mindi Abair.

“We want 2015’s festival to be something special. A true celebration to honor those who have made the festival what it is today” said John Wright, President of the organizers, The Punta Gorda Chamber of Commerce. The talent line-up for 2015 is now set and, according to Wright, the bar has yet again risen to bring the very best of world-class jazz artistry to Punta Gorda.

The festival, set for February 21st 2015 in Laishley Park, Punta Gorda will attract two brand new headlining artists, who will be new to the Punta Gorda stage, but opening will be Mindi Abair, returning for her 7th triumphant time at the festival. For 2015 though, she will have a new CD release in place and a lot of her material will be fresh and new, interspersed with her old favorites that the crowd knows and loves already.

The second act will be Nick Colionne – a Chicago-based, internationally acclaimed artist who is sure to set the stage alight. With a jazz style that is both urban and contemporary, Nick Colionne has blazed a trail to the top of the ranks of today’s stars. Combining jazz, R & B, blues and funk, he has an unmistakable sound and vibe that is instantly recognizable. Nick takes the guitar to unexpected places every time he performs and his rich baritone vocals delight his audiences. As for his showmanship….you have to experience a Nick Colionne show for yourself. With style and energy to spare, unparalleled musicianship and a natural comedic flair, he is one of a kind.

Rounding off the talent “tree” for 2015 is the one and only Dave Koz. Over the decades, the saxophone has opened numerous doors for Koz. He’s played with such artists as Burt Bacharach, Ray Charles, Natalie Cole, Celine Dion, Shelby Lynne, Kenny Loggins, U2, Barry Manilow, Michael McDonald, Luther Vandross and Rod Stewart. He’s become a platinum-selling artist with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and is also known as a humanitarian, entrepreneur, radio host and instrumental music advocate.
