The NEW GENERATION of jazz, Jazz at the Creek, is making it’s landmark in San Diego!

This year’s lineup includes:

July 6th – Jackiem Joyner, Paul Brown, Monty Seward & Rocky Powell

August 10th – Freddie Fox with special guest Evelyn “Champagne” King, Eddie Baccus Jr., Jason Brown & The Pizarro Brothers

This concert series is unique on the San Diego jazz scene in setting as well as purpose, and will afford you the opportunity to encounter Jazz enthusiasts from all across San Diego County, Southern California and neighboring states. In a city where the majority of jazz concerts take place indoors at clubs, hotels, libraries and the like; or at very large outdoor arenas and concert venues; Jazz at the Creek offers an intimate outdoor setting along the banks of Chollas Creek in the beautiful Market Creek amphitheatre, where the stage is set into the creek bed.

Jazz at the Creek will take place on Saturdays from 3:00pm – 8:00pm, with the doors opening at 2:00pm on June 1st, July 6th and August 10th, at the Market Creek Plaza Amphitheatre located at 310 Euclid Avenue, San Diego CA 92114.

This year, we are very excited Felix BBQ with Soul has come on board as the food vendor. Great food, people, jazz music and the outdoors merge to bring an unforgettable experience!

Guitar & Vocals

Paul Brown’s talent as artist and producer have earned him two Grammy Awards and an impressive string of more than 50 number one hits on Radio & Records’ contemporary and smooth jazz chart. In an illustrious career spanning over two decades, Brown has worked on projects for such influential artists as George Benson, Al Jarreau, Kirk Whalum, Patti Austin, Norman Brown, Luther Vandross, Larry Carlton, Euge Groove, Boney James, Rick Braun, and Peter White, among many others.

Brown was born and raised in Los Angeles. He started playing drums at age five and picked up his first guitar two years later. After studying music and math at the University of Oregon, Brown returned to L.A. and began his rise to fame producing some of the biggest hits in contemporary jazz. In 2004, he finally stepped out from behind the producer’s chair and released his debut CD “Up Front”. The album “Love You Found Me” (2010) featured more of the guitarist’s soulful lead vocals than ever before. He earned a nomination for “Best Vocalist” at the 2011 Canadian Smooth Jazz Awards. His sixth solo album keeps his grooving momentum going with an amped-up visit to “The Funky Joint” (2012) – the title track hit the number one at the Billboard Jazz Song Charts.

Dubai Jazz Festival® is back with Emirates Airline as the new title sponsor. Mark your calendar from the 14th till the 22nd of February 2013 for the 11th edition; an ultimate nine days packed with international acts from all music genres – with a cool hangout experience in a unique atmosphere at Festival Park, Dubai Festival City.

The annual festival will spread over nine consecutive nights and feature 22 diversified performances. Balcones Heights Jazz Festival

The Balcones Heights Jazz Festival has been captivating South Texas jazz fans for nearly 20 years. The free concert series takes place each July and August, on Friday evenings at the spectacular outdoor Amphitheater at Wonderland of the Americas.

Internationally acclaimed artists such as Peter White, Slim Man, Paul Brown, Joseph Vincelli, Jeff Kashiwa , and Nils have headlined this prestigious event in years past.

Outdoor seating on the amphitheatre lawn is free on a first-come, first-served basis. Typically jazz fans begin staking their spots with blankets and lawn chairs the morning of each concert. Food and beverages are available for purchase at a variety of booths, as well as the adjacent Food Court inside Wonderland of the Americas.

Revel in the sights and sounds of great live jazz across the reflecting pool of one of San Antonio’s most arresting outdoor venues, the Amphitheatre at Wonderland of the Americas. Catalina Express operates the primary ferry line to the Island with ports in San Pedro and Long Beach, about a half hour from Los Angeles International Airport. Catalina Flyer operates once a day from Newport Beach and another from Marina Del Rey once a day.

Only Catalina Express has return boats to Long Beach after Saturday and Sunday Final Performance around 11:30 p.m.
