There is something unique and special about the combination of Wine and Jazz. It is the perfect pairing that takes you to a place of relaxation and enjoyment. Through the magazine, wine club and website, they bring this perfect lifestyle combination to you.

The concept of Wine of Jazz began with the goal of enhancing the Temecula Wine and Jazz music scene. The Temecula Wine and Jazz newsletter was first published in 2002 and mailed to residents, businesses and all Temecula wineries. This two-page newsletter included a review of a CD from one of the top contemporary jazz musicians who had performed at one of Temecula’s wineries, a review of a Temecula wine, a calendar of music events, and a wine themed quote. Response was overwhelmingly positive from fans, musicians and wineries alike. The newsletter’s name was changed to Wine and Jazz and a website was developed. The continued enthusiastic response led to the formation of the Wine and Jazz wine club in 2005. March 2009 marked the “premiere” issue of Wine and Jazz magazine as a unique national publication celebrating the perfect lifestyle combination.

Read about the pairing of Dee Brown’s “A Little Elbow Room” with wine from Adelaida Cellars (Paso Robles, CA) in the new issue of Wine and Jazz magazine. Available at all Barnes & Nobles, Borders, Copperfield’s Books, Joseph-Beth Booksellers, Horizon Books, Davis Kidd Booksellers, or by contacting Wine and Jazz.

This is a one off performance of one of the USA’s premier smooth jazz vocalists. Victor Fields is in the UK on vacation and is doing a special one off show as part of  Steve Quirk’s Fusion Flavours 20th Anniversary celebrations. He will be performing two soulful jazzy sets and signing copies of his CD too! Trust me you do not want to miss this!

Victor Fields is a timeless song stylist. No matter what era of musical expression you discuss, one constant remains; Victor Fields would be a major player in the game. His voice is like silk dipped in butter and warmed by the sun. The Legendary Lou Rawls described Victor Fields as “The man with the golden voice.” Today it is rare to find a singer that can move you with the majesty of their voice alone. If you were to close your eyes and listen to Victor Fields sing; your soul would shed tears of joy.

Steve will be spinning some soulful modern jazz grooves. Plus they have copies of his new Jazz FM 2cd set “Fusion Flavours 20th Anniversary collection” available too! Tickets are limited to 100 only. Please book your table ASAP on 0161 926 8992.

Looking forward to the Autumn/2011 with shows from Peter White. Gerald Albright, Euge Groove, Jonathan Butler, Acoustic Alchemy,  Swing Out Sister and more!

It’s hard to believe we have just got our body clocks reset to GMT when suddenly its time to re-visit The New World and screw them up once again.

First up on July 30th is the fabulous Northern Lights Theatre at the Potawatomi Bingo Casino in Milwaukee, a really great theatre with amazing sound and lights. We are lucky enough to have the lovely Lisa McClowry and her Band supporting us – should be a great show.

Saturday sees us driving to Minneapolis, a city we have not played in a while. We are at the Dakota Jazz Club for two nights August 1 & 2nd then a long drive Tuesday, August 3rd to Evanston, a northern suburb of Chicago for our first time at a club called Space that evening.

Wednesday is a fly day from Chicago to Orange County, CA where we play an old favorite Thursday night August 5th –The rockin’ Coach House at San Juan Capistrano a legendary rock and roll venue where we always have a great time. Friday is our day off – time to hit the beach.

Saturday, August 7th – Greg’s birthday – sees our return to The Thornton Winery in Temecula, which we have played a record number of times – last time setting the PA speaker on fire only for it decadently to be doused in Crystal Champagne to put it out.

After the show we leave for San Diego for a morning flight to Seattle where on Sunday we play the mighty KWJZ Music Festival at Chateau Ste. Michelle in a lineup that includes Dave Bromberg and Fourplay – should be quite a show.

Then no sooner have we got our pajamas on its time for the early flight back home via New York. A short, but beautiful tour – come out and see us if you can. Check out the following dates and see if you can’t come and have a damn good night out with us:

July 30th – Potawatomi Casino – Milwaukee, WI

Aug 1st & 2nd – Dakota Jazz Club – Minneapolis, MN

Aug 3rd – Space – Evanstone, IL

Aug 5th – The Coach House – San Juan Capistrano, CA

Aug 7th – Thornton Winery – Temecula, CA

Aug 8th – Chateau St Michelle, KWJZ Music Festival – Seattle, WA

San Diego’s newest, premiere dining and live music establishment – Anthology, offers some of the most legendary acts on stage and in the kitchen. Located near the hip neighborhood of “Little Italy” on the southern end of India Street, Anthology marked its grand opening on June 6, 2007. Anthology comes to life in the spirit of the classic ’30s and ’40s supper clubs with a decidedly modern spin, to deliver a culturally harmonious gathering of food, music, wine and ambiance in an intimate 300 seat venue.

Anthology has become one of San Diego’s premier upscale dining rooms. On stage, Anthology plays host to renowned local and international musicians in Jazz, Classic Rock, Blues, Latin and World music. From unplugged to plugged, solo to large bands, guests can be sure they will be impressed by the exciting array of local musicians and singers. Artists who have performed include: Ramsey Lewis Arturo Sandoval, Kenny Rankin, Larry Coryell, Mose Allison, Sonny Landreth, Chick Corea and Lee Ritenour. Director of Music Operations Michael Pritchard, with more than 25 years of experience in the entertainment industry, most recently as talent buyer for Humphrey’s Backstage Club, has secured an impressive array of musical talent (see the artists list).

Anthology is the vision of Howard Berkson, CEO of Anthology and local real estate developer. “I grew up in Chicago where going out for a great meal paired with live music was part of the cultural experience… that’s what I hope to create with Anthology,” said Berkson. “San Diego as a city has matured and we’re ready for some of the visceral experiences you find in world-class cities like New York and Chicago. There’s a demographic niche here, where we’re looking to enjoy the finer things in life, like great food and terrific music – that’s Anthology.” Anthology’s sound resonates from superior acoustics throughout. Combined with a highly sophisticated state-of-the-art digital sound, video and lighting system the venue is designed as one of the finest performance environments on the West Coast. The newly constructed space was specifically designed to offer open sightlines to the stage throughout. Anthology is to quickly proving itself to be downtown’s exceptional world-class destination.

Designed by BCV Architects of San Francisco, the acclaimed 13,000 square-foot restaurant and club extends vertically to three levels including a mezzanine and VIP dining room. On the Upper Level guests enjoy indoor/outdoor spaces including the Fireside Lounge with 18 foot fireplace, outdoor Bayside Balcony and Taylor Guitars Private Dining Room. The venue also includes two state-of-the-art kitchens to accommodate both fine dining and private events. Anthology is also proud of their relationship with Taylor Guitars, a local, worldrenowned guitar manufacturer. The VIP dining room has been named in honor of this friendship. Taylor was honored to not only produce, but also contribute, the exemplary, one-of-a-kind menu covers designed after their superlative instruments using woods of their handcrafted guitars. “Taylor Guitars is honored to be part of the Anthology team. We love the concept, and since it aligns so closely with what we do, it was just a natural fit. We appreciate the chance to get involved on such a deep level, not simply as a “corporate sponsor.” We’re looking forward to a long friendship.” said Bob Taylor, co-founder of Taylor Guitars.
