“Bottom line: anyone who has spent a lot of time savoring the neo-soul of Scott, Badu, Davenport (either her solo output or her work with the Brand New Heavies), Macy Gray, or Corinne Bailey Rae will also find a lot to savor on the excellent Beautiful Soul.” – Alex Henderson, AllMusicGuide.com.

Cynthia Layne is a contemporary vocalist who describes her music as “soothing to the soul…a mix of groove based R&B with strong jazz undertones.” She has performed on stages around the world singing in a multitude of styles. Layne goes beyond genre to find something of herself in any music. Cynthia got her start hanging out in clubs and sitting in with local bands. From there, she started singing with groups regularly, and quickly started getting shows of her own. She signed with Owl Studios in 2006.

Layne’s impact is felt on her newest release titled Beautiful Soul. Writing songs is something Layne recently started tackling. Layne has a large and growing fan base in Indianapolis, IN, and works closely with Rob Dixon, and Reggie Bishop.
