Urban Jazz In The Streets

Cool Urban Jazz will soon quench the hot summer nights at The Shops at La Cantera in San Antonio, Texas. A Summer Jazz Series, free concerts at The Falls, on the east end of Main Street by The Yard House, will showcase some of the best talent in the contemporary jazz genre, including Nils. Bring your lawn chair and settle back to enjoy music from some of the finest jazz artists, including Nils. No outside coolers allowed, but several great spots in the area have decent beer selection!

Saturday, August 21: 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Richard Elliot – nationally, renowned saxophonist known as the “James Brown of Contemporary Jazz” for his intense soulful inspirations of his recordings, latest CD Rock Steady.

Saturday, August 28: 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Nils – recently nominated as best guitarist for the October 2010 American Smooth Jazz Awards; his recording “Pacific Coast Highway” is the most played contemporary jazz song of the decade with nearly 30,000 spins, current CD is Up Close and Personal.

Saturday, September 4: 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Jeff Kashiwa – hailed as one of the most diverse saxophonist in contemporary jazz, Kashiwa rose to fame during his amazing, decade long tenure with The Rippingtons, recent CD Play.
