With the 2011 Oasis Contemporary Jazz Awards just five months away, the co-producers of the Awards have announced additions to the organization’s staff.

Larry Seacat joined the Oasis as Marketing Manager in September and has now been awarded an equity position by Oasis Awards founder and co-producer Bill Paddock. “Larry has an extensive career in sales and marketing and is of course a great jazz fan” said Paddock. Seacat has already made an impact by giving a scheduled Friday-Saturday afternoon event the name, “Bianca’s At The Oasis”, after one of his favorite jazz clubs.

Seattle’s Michele Abrams and Sacramento’s Jean Robinson have been named Oasis Associates along with David Marshall.

Abrams is Founder and Executive Producer of Cjazz. Since 1994, Cjazz has promoted, produced and presented recording artists of contemporary music for corporations and nonprofit organizations. The “In Concert For Cancer” show aboard the USS Midway Aircraft Carrier on Friday, March 11, is part of the Oasis Awards Weekend and is produced by Cjazz.

Robinson is long-time manager of saxophonist Tom Braxton and has played a major role in creating the 2011 performance line-up. Robinson also brought “Strings of Color”, a Dallas based youth orchestra, to the attention of the Oasis organizers. This led to an invitation to the group to perform in San Diego.

Marshall is owner and Creative Director/Sr Designer of David Marshall Graphic Design Co. He designed the Oasis trophy that will be awarded to 2011 Oasis Contemporary Jazz Award winners. He is also creating the new Oasis Contemporary Jazz Awards website and designing Oasis merchandise.

The Oasis Contemporary Jazz Awards were founded in 2000 to honor the best performers and performances in Jazz. Nominations for the 2011 Oasis Awards will be announced in early January. The Oasis Awards Weekend spans four days, March 10-13, 2011 and will take place in San Diego.
