Blue Lagoon Dolphin Encounter

The Dolphin Encounter includes a scenic round trip boat ride to Blue Lagoon Island?just 40 minutes by catamaran from Nassau. In the Dolphin Encounter program, each participant has the opportunity to interact with these wonderful animals. Your program begins with a fun orientation, briefly covering the natural history of dolphins, animal training techniques, ocean conservation and Watchable Wildlife.

Blue Lagoon Sea Lion Encounter

A 40-minute high-speed, double-decker ferryboat ride takes you through historic Nassau Harbour to private Blue Lagoon Island. After a short orientation upon arrival, you will kiss, hug, feed and play with the sea lions—surprisingly affectionate and humorous marine mammals. See the sea lions’ habitat too. Your sea lion interaction will take place from specially designed, water platforms.

Discover Atlantis

Departing from Prince George Dock, you’ll set out towards Paradise Island on a narrated boat journey past Arawak Cay, the Historic Nassau Harbour and Fort Montague. Along the way, your guide will share Nassau’s colorful history and point out the area’s famous resorts an. Celebrity homes dot the coastline of the world-famous Paradise Island—some name-dropping by your guide is quite likely. After your 30-minute boat ride, you’ll arrive at the Paradise Island Ferry Terminal. From here, it’s a 10- to 15-minute walk to the $500-million Atlantis mega-resort. Walk through the Atlantis Digs, an underground attraction recreating the fabled lost city of Atlantis. As you journey underground, you’ll enter one of the largest outdoor aquariums in the world. The Atlantis lagoon holds more than 20,000 fish in its 2.7-million-gallon tank. At the end of your tour, explore the Atlantis shops and casino at your leisure before heading back to the ship.

Glass-Bottom Boat

See everything a diver or snorkeler sees without getting wet. You will start off with a narrated harbor cruise as your captain points out historical sites and the stunning homes of the rich and famous. Even more impressive is the wealth of marine life visible through the floor of the boat—a multitude of colorful fish dancing through the water. You will have the opportunity to view and feed the fish while observing the amazing coral of the Caribbean Sea.

Harbor Cruise & Snorkel by Boat

Experience Nassau’s marvelous underwater kingdom and all its incredible inhabitants. Climb aboard one of three modern snorkel boats (catamarans or a mono-hull dive boat). Sit back and enjoy a narrated harbor cruise on your way to the snorkel site. Learn about the historical points of interest as well as the homes of the rich and famous while cruising.

Nassau Highlights & Ardastra Gardens

See the main points of interest in the capital city of the Bahamas, including Fort Fincastle (1793) renowned for its splendid views. Another highlight of this tour is a one-hour stop at Ardastra Gardens to see the national bird—the pink flamingo. After stopping at the Queen’s Staircase, named for Queen Victoria and composed of 64 stone steps, the tour returns to the ship via historic Bay Street and its merchant stalls and horse-drawn carriages.

The free 2012 JazzFest features a variety of performers over 2 days, including Jeff Lorber and Roman Street;  the complete line-up is to find at this website. The 2012 JazzFest will be held on Saturday/Sunday April 14 and 15, 2012.

The major headliners each perform a set on both days, and will have CD’s available in the Merchandise Tent.  The local and regional artists perform one set on either Saturday or Sunday. They also include a number of area college, high school and middle school jazz ensembles in the programs.
