District manager of the USPS, and bassist Marcus Miller, right, with musicians and members and friends of the Davis family during the U.S. Postal Service dedication of the Miles Davis stamp before a concert at the Hollywood Bowl on June 27.

Miller, a two-time GRAMMY winner, returns to composing and exploring new music of his own on “Renaissance” with a new band of curious and like-minded young musicians, and a mission to travel the world to take the message of his musical movement straight to the people. Set for release August 7 on Concord Jazz, “Renaissance” includes eight original compositions with inspired interpretations of songs by WAR, Janelle Monáe, The Jackson 5 and Ivan Lins.
