This year’s concert kicks off our 10th year celebration and the 50th anniversary of music legend Ronnie Laws. Laws is scheduled to perform with along with a plethora of celebrity jazz artists which Laws has accompanied throughout the years. We will continue to explore new sounds, new fusions, and new mixtures of jazz-based music – the types of sounds that are produced when artists courageously step out of the bounds of the traditional jazz scene and explore the jazz sound to discover “something different”. In addition to jazz favorites, expect to encounter new jazz-based sounds.

Designed to honor jazz legends, this event will be an intimate, up-close-and-personal luncheon with festival headliners as they share their personal stories, their love for jazz, and the evolution of the art form. The Red Cat Jazz Legend Award, named after the Festival’s Presenting Sponsor(s) is presented to a live jazz legend at this event.

In observance of Breast Cancer awareness month the 2013 Red Cat Jazz Festival will join the annual international health campaign to increase awareness of the disease. The Red Cat Jazz Festival will host an opening night reception and concert featuring “Jazz in Pink!,” A portion of the proceeds will be donated to local entities that provide information and support to those affected by breast cancer.

Red Cat for Pink! will take place on October 10, 2013 at The Beach Central Park on the grounds of the Hotel Galvez.
