Europe’s greatest Soul, Funk & Jazz-Party

… Welcome to the MALLORCA SMOOTH JAZZ FESTIVAL – the only smooth jazz festival in the European Mediterranean area. Actually, in Sa Coma, on the beautiful east coast of the Spanish island Mallorca.

In May, a music festival with unique live music awaits you in the exclusive ambience of the Protur Biomar Gran Hotel & Spa. The 5-star hotel is also the venue and is characterized by an elegant and modern equipment, a full-equipped spa area as well as landscaped gardens and swimming pools (indoor / outdoor). Located only 300 metres from the beach, right on the Punta de n’Amer natural park.

This musical (short) vacation* is all about enjoying the finer things in life. Good music. Good food. Good wine. Good entertainment. Good weather. Good prospects for recovery and a unique experience in the breathtaking scenery of the Mediterranean Sea.

On stage, we welcome some of the biggest and most successful international stars of the Contemporary and Smooth Jazz scene:
PETER WHITE | RICHARD ELLIOT | NICK COLIONNE | JESSY J | GREGG KARUKAS | ELAN TROTMAN | SPENCER DAY | PAUL SHILTS WEIMAR

The live concerts take place on Friday and Saturday evening and on Sunday forenoon until afternoon.

A Peter White Christmas featuring Mindi Abair and Rick Braun

Reserved: $55 Premium: $75 VIP Table Seating: $110

PETER WHITE
Over the years, Peter White has maintained a reputation as one of the most versatile and prolific acoustic guitarists on the contemporary jazz landscape. Armed with an unparalleled combination of lyricism and energy, he combines elements of jazz, pop and classical guitar to create a sound that is singular and at the same time accessible to a broad audience.

MINDI ABAIR
One of the most recognizable saxophonists in the US, Mindi Abair has sold a half million records as a solo artist, but you probably know her as the featured saxophonist on American Idol for the 2011 and 2012 seasons.

RICK BRAUN
Braun has been playing trumpet since he was a kid. No news there for the legions of fans his richly melodic playing style has attracted since the release of his first album, Intimate Secrets in 1993. Less known is the fact that he’s been a singer, and a good one (backing Rod Stewart and Sade among others, with vocals as well as his stellar trumpet) for most of his life, as well.

This glamorous event features world renowned trumpet player Rick Braun who brings top caliber jazz musician headliners with him each year to help ring in the New Year right here in Tucson. This year he is bringing high energy saxophonist Mindi Abair and Grammy nominated guitarist Norman Brown. Also, back by popular demand, the night’s festivities will get started with crowd favorite, the Tucson Jazz Institute’s Ellington Big Band.

The event will once again include a five course gourmet dinner and a silent auction where the proceeds will be donated to help families affected by Autism and to support youth music education scholarships.

In addition, this year will also include a pre-event evening on Monday, December 30, 2013 with another concert at the resort in a more casual atmosphere featuring recording artist Neamen Lyles. Tickets for this concert are only available for those attending the gala on New Year’s Eve.  The pass code to purchase tickets to the Neamen concert will be provided in the Rick Braun’s New Year’s Eve ticket email confirmation when purchased.
