5th and York and the Groove Masters are partnering with Amped-4-a-cure, Inc.during National Breast Cancer awareness month to bring you “Jazz for a Cure”. This event will be a night of Smooth Jazz featuring two of Charlotte’s most prominent smooth jazz recording artists, 5th and York and The Groove Masters. A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will go towards fighting cancer through research and providing education and therapeuticprograming through our partners at Amped-4-a-Cure and Novant Health.

Groove Masters, based in Charlotte, NC consists of veteran musicians with over twenty years of professional musical experience. They have played for large corporations, celebrities, and community events. Their style appeals to diverse audiences crossing cultural lines and blending them into a masterful musical groove that you have to experience to believe.

5th and York – named after a street corner on the outskirts of Charlotte – is bringing fresh new sounds to the music scene as each member brings a unique style, background and musical ingenuity to the mix. A mix so popular that they have been asked to open for legendary artists like Frankie Beverly & Maze, Earth, Wind & Fire, Chicago, and R&B greats Anthony Hamilton and the late Gerald Levert. The Vision of Amped 4-A-Cure, Inc is to be the world’s leadng charity of choice in supporting cancer research, awareness and education for all types of cancer. Their goal is to use all genres of music as the vehicle to reach the masses and to ultimately help find a cure. Amped 4 a cure (A4AC) has supported several chartiy events and that raise money for Cancer research as well as held events that raise the spirit of those battling the disease. One of the most notable events is the “Music that Heals”series held annually at Christmas time for pediatric cancer patients who are too ill to go home for the holidays.
