Sax on the River was conceived while watching a Tom Braxton show at Harlow’s almost three years ago. During the final number of the night, Kim Waters, Jeff Clayton and Garrett Perkins joined Tom onstage. Four amazing saxophonists on the stage at one time, playing together, made the promoter’s heart skip a beat. And the rest is history. The saxophone is an instrument that brings smiles to faces and makes people’s hearts sing and she wanted to bring that to her event.

Trisha Friend is a bookkeeper, lover of all things jazz, a breast cancer survivor and is the founder and organizer of Sax on the River. She has lived in the Sacramento area since 1987, when she moved from Oregon with her family. She is self employed, loves wine, live music and the California sunshine. She promotes breast cancer awareness by supporting The Karla J Williams Foundation with Sax on the River, and has organized her team “Friendly Haven in Paris” for the past 6 years, to walk in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.
