The San Antonio Summer Art & Jazz Festival, also known as SAS FEST (San Antonio Summer Festival) and JAZZ FEST S. A. (Jazz Festival of San Antonio) is a free 3-day event held on the first full weekend of June. SAS FEST features 10 great jazz concerts, an Arts and Crafts Fair and delicious Texas cuisine. The San Antonio Summer Art & Jazz Festival is in its 9th year of presenting great fun and entertainment for the whole family.

SAS FEST / JAZZ FEST is host to a free jazz workshop during it’s event. These workshops are developed for young student musicians in middle and high school and feature instruments associated with the style of jazz music. Although these workshops are aimed at underprivileged school districts in San Antonio, they are open to any person interested in wanting to learn more about the instruments associated with jazz, jazz music and the music industry itself.

A portion of the proceeds from SAS FEST benefit Any Baby Can, ABC. ABC is a nonprofit organization that provides services free of charge to families with children from birth through 12 years of age, who have serious illnesses, disabilities and/or special needs.

SAS FEST is also host to about 25 children; 25 from Methodist Children’s Home or 25 from St. Peter-St. Joseph Children’s Home, two great non- profit organizations that provides temporary care and housing for children who have been abandoned or abused.
