3rd Annual Jazz Festival 2019 Smooth Jazz!

Our vision to bring a diverse group of Jazz and Blues artists to the local DFW community continues for the 3rd consecutive year. We are delighted to bring these nationally recognized Jazz Music Masters together to preserve, present and promote the beauty and diversity of this exciting musical culture. Through our performances, we strengthen the local jazz community and contribute to the overall cultural and artistic diversity of the region.

Featuring music by:

o Tom Braxton – Saxophonist and composer Tom Braxton understands his purpose on earth is to create music that touches our hearts.

o Blake Aaron – Guitarist, Composer, Recording Artist and Radio Show host.

o Joe Mc Bride – keyboardist/singer Joe McBride began playing the piano at age four.

o Josh Giles – Writer, composer, and collaborator, songwriter and performing musician

o Kim Waters – Saxophonist Kim Waters has made a career of writing timeless anthems with insatiable grooves, undeniable hooks and memorable melodies that combine the best of jazz, R&B,

funk and soul.

o Yoko Mabuchi – She is a sensational and captivating pianist that consistently treats her audience to the highest quality of music performance.

o Jarrod Lawson – As a composer, keyboardist, and singer he is heavily influenced by Stevie Wonder and Donny Hathaway. Like those legends, he incorporates social and spiritual messages into

his uplifting sound.

Proceeds go to “Closing the Gap in Healthcare. The Greater Charleston Low Country Jazz Festival is the primary fundraiser for Closing the Gap in Health Care, Inc., a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization whose primary mission is decreasing health disparities and increasing health literacy, for African Americans and the underserved in our nation.

The festival is featuring Robert Glasper, Lalah Hathaway, Jarrod Lawson, Damien Escobar, Jeffrey Osborne, Rick Braun, Norman Brown and Richard Elliot.
