WJZZ-Digital and the City of Southfield are proud to announce the return of the Smooth Jazz Fest to the Southfield Civic Center on August 9th & 10th 2013. This exclusive event will showcase internationally recognized artists and include opportunities to meet the on-air broadcast staff of our host, WJZZ Digital.

Artists: Randy Scott, Kimmie Horne, Demetrius Nabors, Terry Tuck, Antoinette, Marc Staggers, Conru Carpenter & Peace by Piece from England added to lineup!

The WJZZ Digital MotorCity Jazz Radio Smooth Jazz Fest scheduled for August 9-10 in the city of Southfield will be postponed until the June 27-29 (tentative date) due to a lack of secured sponsors at this time.

The city of Southfield and WJZZ Digital determined that postponing the Jazz Fest until 2014 would allow WJZZ more time to secure corporate sponsors – many of which have already indicated support for next year. The proposed 2014 Smooth Jazz Fest will now potentially be a three day event instead of just two, making for a larger event featuring more nationally-known artists.

Automatic full ticket refunds will begin on Monday, July 15 and should be completed by Friday, July 19. If a refund is not received by July 19, call WJZZ at (248) 461-3483 or e-mail tickets@mcmsradio.com.

East Downtown Dearborn will again host a signature event this July and August as the East Dearborn Downtown Development Authority (EDDDA) presents our 2013 Jazz on the Ave concert series in beautiful Dearborn City Hall Park, 13615 Michigan Avenue at Schaefer.

The concerts are Wednesday evenings from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, free of charge and open to the public. Bring lawn chairs or blankets and stake out a good spot for great music in the Park.

We’ll be showcasing several neighborhood restaurants at each concert who will be selling their food at booths in the park. A face painter and balloon twister will be onsite too!

Of course plenty of nearby restaurants will also be open nearby too, so grab yourself some tasty carry-out and make it a picnic dinner before the show! Check out the restaurants in East Downtown here.

Here’s the schedule to mark your calendars, and please note that the concerts will be held RAIN OR SHINE!!!
