Announcing the 2nd Annual Asian Heritage Jazz festival. The Asian Heritage Jazz Festival features some of the most renowned Asian Jazz Artists in America, who have made inroads on a national and global scale. This festival strives to showcase the achievements of these artists, and to recognize the many Asian-American musicians who have succeeded in embracing Jazz an original American art form. Jazz has become increasingly popular in Asia with The Java Jazz Festival in Indonesia now the largest attended jazz festival in the world. It is now time to highlight and promote our local artists here in the United States. The festival also aims to promote and nurture younger artists who deserve wider recognition, but are unable to break into the mainstream world of major jazz festivals.

With the sold out success of it’s inaugural year, the Pacific Rim Jazz Festival continues it’s tradition of bringing in world class entertainment to Hawaii as well as continuing to support the local community through it’s charitable contributions. With it’s goal of bringing in diverse talents from Pacific Rim nations the festival hopes to continue it’s reach and popularity to the international community as well as the USA.

It is also the intent of the festival to highlight and feature many of Hawaii’s own talented artists and musicians and in the process allowing them the opportunity to share the stage with world class artists. We are proud to announce our new and bigger venue, The Hawaii Convention Center Ballroom. We hope to substantially grow our audience and increase accessibility to Hawaii’s tourist center in Waikiki.

Jeffrey Osborne
As the lead vocalist of the band LTD Jeffrey Osborne is a part of R&B history. As a solo artist he has had five Gold and Platinum records. After 3 decades as a performer Jeffrey is an exciting performer and continues to thrill audiences all over the world. His signature hit songs are “On The Wings of Love , Stay with me tonight, Love Ballad,You should be mine, and more.

Boney James
Since the success of Kenny G, Boney James has been the most commercially successful saxophonist in the last fifteen years. With three Grammy nominations ,four gold records and several # 1 Billboard chart topping records this will be Boney’s first ever appearance in Honolulu.The festival is excited to have this incredible artist appear at this years event.

David Benoit
Five time Grammy nominated pianist David Benoit has bridged the gap between jazz and symphonic music. With number one jazz records to his credit David is also internationally renown and critically acclaimed as a conductor and arranger. His most recent recording Botswana Bossa Nova was a #1 hit on the smooth jazz charts this year.His rendition of Linus and Lucy from the Charlie Brown Series has become his signature hit to audiences around the world.

Mindi Abair
Saxophonist/Vocalist Mindi Abair is the leading lady of smooth jazz and pop today. Her commercial success has garnered several number one radio and billboard hits. As a performer she has appeared with a diverse array of artist such as the Backstreet Boys, Duran Duran, Josh Groban, Peter White, Lee Retinour, Mandy Moore and more. She was an instant hit this year with her guest appearance on the Top TV talent show “American Idol”

Gregg Karukas
With 12 solo releases to his credit and several top ten jazz radio hits, Gregg Karukas is one of the most sought after smooth jazz keyboardist around. As a musician,composer and arranger Gregg is always a welcomed addition to the festival.

Michael Paulo
One of the most prolific and successful saxophonists from Hawaii, Michael has been touring internationally for the last three decades. The host of the immensely popular Smooth Jazz Nights, Michael is well loved by Hawaii’s jazz fans. He is also the event producer and host.

Rene Paulo
Pianist Rene Paulo who is commonly known as Hawaii’s “King of the Keyboard“ is one of the most respected musicians of his generation. Breaking down barriers, he was one of the first ever musicians from Hawaii to be accepted into the prestigious Julliard School of Music. Since then, Rene has warmed the hearts of people all over the world with his unique style of piano playing and showmanship. He will make a special guest appearance at this years festival.

Pauline Wilson
A longtime member of the legendary band Seawind, her rendition of Follow Your Road has touched the hearts of millions of people around the world. Pauline is one of the few Grammy Award winning artists from Hawaii. Born in Hilo, Hawaii she will be gracing the festival with her presence and will bring her powerful vocals to the festival.
